Terms & Conditions
Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 23 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Skyelish. Please read them. By creating an account or paying for a plan, you accept them.
1. Who we are
Skyelish is owned and run by 43 Air School (Pty) Ltd (registration number 1988/006515/07), Port Alfred Aerodrome, R67 Bathurst Road, Port Alfred, Eastern Cape, 6170, South Africa ("43 Air School", "we", "us"), a SACAA-approved Aviation Training Organisation (ATO number SACAA/1090/ATO). You can reach us at skyelish@43airschool.com.
2. What Skyelish is
Skyelish is an online training service for spoken aviation English and radiotelephony. You talk out loud with Skye, an AI tutor, in your web browser. It includes a level check, lessons, an English Language Proficiency (ELP) practice test, radio units, a readback drill, guided flights, and a report after each session. All training is delivered online. There is nothing physical to book, collect or ship.
For 43 Air School cadets
For cadets enrolling at 43 Air School, Skyelish is a required part of the online phase of training, before they arrive on base. The school's enrolment agreement also applies to them. Where the two differ about Skyelish, these terms apply to Skyelish.
3. What Skyelish is not
Skyelish is a training aid. It is not an official English Language Proficiency test. It does not issue a licence, a licence endorsement or a certificate, and a level shown in Skyelish is practice, not an official ICAO rating. Your official rating comes only from an approved ELP examiner. Skyelish does not replace instruction from your flight school or instructor, and its radio practice is not a source of operational information for real flights.
4. Your account
- You need an account to use Skyelish. Give your real name and an email address you can read.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- One account is for one person. Do not share it.
- If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
5. Plans and payment
- You can create an account and start for free. Paid plans and their prices are on the Pricing page.
- Prices are in South African rand (ZAR) and include VAT at 15%. Payments are processed by PayFast. We do not see or store your card number.
- A plan is a subscription. It renews automatically every month or every year, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel.
- Your plan starts when PayFast confirms your payment.
- If we change a price, we tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to you. You can cancel before then.
- If a payment fails, we may pause paid features until it is paid.
- A flight school can buy seats for its cadets. The school pays for the seats and decides who gets them.
6. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any time. Our Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how, and when you get money back. It is part of these terms.
7. Using Skyelish fairly
Do not:
- use Skyelish to break the law, or to harass or harm anybody, including Skye's voice service;
- try to get into other people's accounts, recordings or reports;
- copy, resell or automate access to Skyelish, or try to take it apart;
- overload it on purpose or try to get around its limits.
If you do, we may suspend or close your account. If we close a paid account for this reason, we do not refund it.
8. Your recordings and what you say
Sessions with Skye are recorded and transcribed so that we can mark them and give you a report. You keep any rights you have in what you say. You let us store and use it to run Skyelish, to give you and your school your reports, and to check and improve how sessions are marked. Our Privacy Policy explains who can see it and how to have it deleted.
9. AI can make mistakes
Skye and the session reports are produced by AI. They are usually right, and sometimes wrong. A report is feedback for practice. Do not rely on it as a formal assessment, and ask your instructor when it matters.
10. Our content
The Skyelish name, the app, the lessons, the radio units, the voices and the pictures belong to us or the people we license them from. You may use them for your own training while you have an account.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep Skyelish running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or when a service we depend on fails. We may improve, change or remove parts of it. If we stop offering Skyelish, we refund the unused part of any paid period.
12. Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as a missed test date or lost income, caused by using or not being able to use Skyelish. Our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law that cannot be limited.
13. Ending this agreement
You can stop using Skyelish and close your account at any time by emailing us. We may close an account that breaks these terms, as described in section 7.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, we tell you by email before it applies.
15. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and South African courts decide any dispute.
