Privacy Policy

This policy says what personal information Skyelish collects, why, who can see it, and how you can have it corrected or deleted. We follow South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Who is responsible

43 Air School (Pty) Ltd (registration number 1988/006515/07), Port Alfred Aerodrome, R67 Bathurst Road, Port Alfred, Eastern Cape, 6170, South Africa, owns and runs Skyelish and is the responsible party for your personal information. Contact our Information Officer at skyelish@43airschool.com.

What we collect

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

You can see your own reports and progress in the app.
Instructors at 43 Air School can see learners' reports, transcripts, recordings and radio progress, to supervise and support training.
Service providers who run parts of Skyelish for us, only as far as they need to:
- ElevenLabs, for Skye's voice, speech recognition and session marking;
- Supabase, for the database, sign-in and stored recordings;
- Vercel, which hosts the website and app;
- Resend, which sends our emails, such as sign-up codes;
- PayFast, which processes payments;
- GitHub, where feedback you send from the app is kept for us to fix.
Authorities, if the law requires it.

Information sent outside South Africa

Some of these providers store or process information outside South Africa, for example in the European Union or the United States. We use providers that protect personal information under their own data protection terms, as POPIA requires for cross-border transfers.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, recordings and reports while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days. Payment records are kept for 5 years, because South African tax law requires it.

How we protect it

Information is sent over encrypted connections. Each learner's records are protected so that only that learner and 43 Air School's instructors can read them. Recordings are kept in private storage. Card details are handled only by PayFast.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask us to:

tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
correct information that is wrong;
delete your information, or your whole account;
stop using your information for a purpose you object to.

Email skyelish@43airschool.com from the email address on your account. We answer within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

Cookies and storage on your device

Skyelish stores a few things in your browser so that it works: that you are signed in, your settings (such as Vietnamese help), and progress that has not reached our servers yet. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Skyelish is for pilot cadets and other adult learners. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree before you use it.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, we tell you by email first.
